"Three Mythical Settings" is a set of impressionistic sketches linked
by a common motif (do/me/re/fa/me).
If you can get past the nonexistent transitions, it's a pretty cool
piece.
There are a pair of brief John Mackey quotes embedded in there, as I
knew he would be seeing/hearing this score.
Interestingly, two Mackey pieces written shortly afterward ("Harvest"
and "Hymn to a Blue Hour") have the diatonic
inversion of my motif as their
secondary theme (me/do/re/te/do). I secretly claim credit for
this
even if it means his subconcious wants
to write the exact opposite of my piece.
